The Photography Show at the NEC Birmingham is the largest photography event in the UK and has been for as long as I can remember. I first started going to the show around 9 years ago and I look forward to it every year like it is the first time I've ever been, gear heads will know what I mean. This year was like any normal year and I couldn't wait to attend, looking for the usual bargains and checking out the latest advances in the camera world.
However, around 10 days before the show I received a call from One Vision Imaging, one of the largest photography labs in the UK. One Vision Imaging is the lab I have been using since the launch of my website a few months ago and I had spoken to them prior to launching my website on all their services. I also had the opportunity to meet with them at SWPP (Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographer), and for those of you who aren't aware, I am also a wedding and event photographer.
Nick Rennie the sales manager had seen my portfolio and had recommended my image of Glen Etive to be displayed at the show, showcasing one of their Di-Bond products and stated it would look great on that product. I didn't have much time to decide as I was in shock and absolutely flattered but there was only one decision and that was to say yes, that it would be wonderful!
I have been attending the show as mentioned earlier for many years and have always admired the many images on display by some amazing photographers and to have my image displayed at the show knowing that thousands of people will be viewing that image was a truly wonderful and proud moment for me.
