The years photography started in the East of England in the county of Essex where visited Botany Bay for a sunrise shoot. During the year I also visited the Norfolk Coast and Scotland, where I visited Assynt, Torridon, Glencoe and Duncansby Stacks in my least favourite time of year to shoot, summer. My final destination was a whirlwind trip to Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, where I was in the midst of storm Gerrit experiencing some extreme weather conditions. Here are my favourite images from theses trips and in no particular order.
Botany Bay
Sunrise is an amazing time to capture images but unfortunately, its not something that I do too often and this image is a great example of some of the beautiful light that you get at this time of the day and of course you don't get many people visiting the area. I love capturing seascapes but always seem to struggle with them but I do like these images.
Norfolk Coast
Thornham and Hunstanton Beach are located about a two hour drive from central London. Thornham is well known for its disused coal barn and its estuary that floods when the tide comes in. Hunstanton beach is famous for its red cliffs and and wonderful sunsets, here are some of my favourites although I definately could have done with more time at the location.
Scotland
My most loved destination for landscape photography in the UK is Scotland. It offers amazing mountains and lakes along with stunning sea views. It rivals other landscape photography locations such as Iceland and is just as majestic. This trip was a journey mainly along the NC500 which is a circular road from east to west Scotland. Here I visited Assynt, Torridon, Glencoe and Dunscanby. Here are my favourite images from that trip.
Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park
This was the last trip of the year. A whirlwind journey to north Wales was great fun and I experienced some extreme weather conditions with the UK bering hit by storm Gerrit, which brought heavy rain, gale force winds and some beautiful light. I love the welsh countryside and my visits to this part of the UK always brings a smile to my face.
